Braelyn Combe, a freshman at Rancho Cucamonga High in California, placed second in her heat at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 girls cross country prelims at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Combe covered the 2.93-mile layout in 18:34.4 to help Rancho Cucamonga prevail by a 32-70 margin against Crescenta Valley and produce the fastest team time of 95:21 in search of the program's first Division 1 title.
